Hi MsP,

I recommend that you retake the GMAT and apply next year. Final rounds for a given school (be it round 3 or round 4) are often a bad strategy. For many schools, this is the time they are focused on completing their class and picking very specific profiles. In addition, if you submit an application in March and are not admitted, you do not have much time to regroup and improve your profile before reapplying in October for the next season.

Hi Stacy,

I've seen a lot that regarding 3rd round you say that schools are looking for specific profiles. What exactly do you mean with "specific profile"?. If 3rd round is so bad strategy why schools have it?, why don't they have just 2 rounds with more time distance?.
Regards

Hi Latinapp,

Business schools have a third round because they are looking to complete their class. Unfortunately the specific profile depends on the school and the year. As an example, if you are applying to UC Berkeley Haas and in one particular year the school has accepted a high percentage of students working in finance in the 1st and 2nd round, then in the 3rd round they will be looking for more candidates from other backgrounds. Likewise, they may have accepted a high number of entrepreneurs, etc in earlier rounds. It depends on the particular situation that the business school is in.

Best,
