Thanks a lot for your response, Linda. Could you please suggest me other schools where my profile is competitive? Also, would my profile be competitive at the “Desired” schools if I get a 700+ on the GMAT?

Regards,
IR
You would be more competitive at the "Desired" schools with a 700+ GMAT. The score should also be reasonably balanced.

Before I recommend schools, could you please tell me what you want to do after you earn your MBA?

Thanks,
Linda

Thanks Linda. Post MBA, my goal is be a management consultant in the IT sector. I've been working on large Core Banking Transformation projects throughout my professional career and would like to progress in a similar industry or function. Also, I believe, the experience of working in the US for a Large Banking Transformation project would only help me in my applications.

Linda, there is one more thing that I wanted to ask. Apologies if it's irrelevant.
If schools reject an applicant, do they give the reason for reject. I'll be applying to Kelley in the first round. If they reject solely based on my low GMAT score, can I improve my GMAT and apply in the second/third round? Do schools consider such applications after rejecting applicant in the first round?

Again, thanks a lot for your valuable inputs.

Not irrelevant at all. Good question.

Most schools do not give their reasons for rejection. A few do give feedback after the application cycle has been completed to applicants considering a reapplication. I know of no school that will consider a reapplication during the same application cycle. In others I know of no school that will reject an applicant round 1 and then consider him or her again round 2 or 3. They will consider reapplications during the next application cycle.

Best,
Linda

With your current GMAT and considering your goals, I think you have chosen your schools well. Do be aware that many of the elite strategy consulting firms will want to see a 700+ GMAT or do not actively recruit from the schools you are considering.

Best,
Linda
