I recently gave Gmat and got the Dreaded just below 700 score.My Gmat Score is 690
I have 2.5 yrs of experience in IT as software tester.(It will be 3 by the time I join next yr)
I have received quite a few awards from my organization and few client appreciation emails
I worked as a software tester for a top US brokerage firm, so I have a good knowledge of financial instruments(options,derivatives) and debt markets
I am trying to get promoted to the role of an analyst as I believe it will enhance my portfolio
I am interested in Mba-Finance,Investment banking, and International business
Could you pls provide me a status of where I stand and which universities should i apply to
I have worked with an NGo for some time and get a letter from them too
Could you also help with with some additional criteria that schools consider and I should try to accomplish
such as some finance certifications..etc
I have like to know if I stand a chance in below schools
ISB Hyderabad
SP jain,Mumbai
NUS
Tepper, CMU
Boston,Carroll school
Texas, Mays business school
Duke Fuqua
Maryland university

ISB, Tepper, and Duke are stretches. I am not familiar enough with SP jain to comment. You have a competitive profile for NUS, Carroll, Mays and Maryland.

Below is my profile in brief
Gmat - 690 (Q 47 & V39)
AWA - 4.5 and IR - 7
I have about 2.5 yrs exp in IT (would be 3.5 by the time course starts next yr)
Prior to this I worked in my family business for about an yr and did some teaching too. I am an Indian
I still work with my dad on weekends, So i have about 4 yrs of experience
I want to do MBA in Finance or MIS. I would like to apply in colleges where i have good chances of scholarships. Tuition is also a criteria for selecting colleges
Below are the schools that I have finalized and what my counselor says my chances are
Ohio(fisher) - Competitive
Rutgers - Medium
Texas A&M - Competitive
UI - urbana champaign - Competitive
Pittsburgh - Katz - Meduim- competitive
Temple - Backup
Notheastern- Medium
Connecticut - meduim- competitive
Virginia Tech - Medium
Baruch - Backup
Boston university - Competitive
Pls let me know if the list is good or should i apply to any other college
Also if you can mention any one university in top 20 where I have a chance of atleast getting an interview call, it would be great
