[quote="PaulLanzillotti"]Hey pratb,
Thanks for reaching out to me. With all due respect, I am not really sure what I can do with the information you provided. I don't really have a good understanding of your background and individual leadership experiences. I don't really have a sufficient understanding of your future career goals. One more factor – I'm not familiar with these programs because I mainly deal with people who are applying to top 10 schools. And yet another factor – I don't really know how your counselor decided these were the best schools for you. If he has some type of methodology I can evaluate the legitimacy of that methodology, and that a high level let you know. Otherwise I'm outside of you and your counselor's circle of trust.
Respectfully,
Paul Lanzillotti
Hi Paul
Thanks for your feedback
I would say my short term goal would be to get into a consultancy firm either management or finance.
I believe the aspects that my counselor and I have taken into consideration are location (industries around the place), tuition and prospects for scholarships
Would you say I have a decent chance of getting in a top 25 college such as Mccombs, Cornell
or would it be better to plan for universities such as BU, rochestor, baruch
Can you please suggest some universities for my score
A bit more about me..
Right after finishing college I started working in my Dad's business which is a manufacturing firm. I realized my interest was more on the managing and expanding part of the business. i started to devise ways to increase efficiency and profits. I believe fortune favors the brave and never backed from starting something new and groundbreaking
I started a new trend to provide maintenance post delivery which reaped great benefits for the business
I got a call from Patni and stated working there as a QA engineer for my client a top US brokerage firm. I still continued to work in my dad's firm on weekends and even though both the jobs involved different domains I also sought to find some strategies from one that could be implemented in the other to increase its efficiency and profits
My job as a Quality assurance engineer required me to have a good knowledge of finance and helped me focus on the business aspect than the technical (coding) aspect. i sent many suggestion on how the top US brokerage firm could enhance user experience and so their business. These were greatly appreciated and implemented. This helped me focus on the consulting side of the business, something that i had been doing in my Dad's firm too.
All your help is greatly appreciated..Thanks a ton!!
