Dear all,
I hope this is the right forum for me to post in.
I am currently studying for a BSc degree with honours in International Business and Management (my major is International Management) at one of the best business schools in the UK. I definitely want to go into higher education after this, and I had decided to do an MSc in Strategy / International Management, however lately the thought of doing an MBA in the US has come into my mind. I have read a lot about the difference between MBA and MSc, however I know that US firms accept candidates without work experience (I do have more than a year of work experience though) so I am just a bit lost as to which programme would be best for me? Obviously because I am studying Business and Management now, I don't really want to have any repetitive courses, and as far as I understood (please correct me if I'm wrong here!) the MBA is rather for students coming from other disciplines who want to get some foundations in terms of management and leadership? If so, I guess that at least the first year of my MBA would be similar to my undergrad studies...? Also, it seems that most of the US MBA programmes don't offer any exchanges or double degrees, whereas the European MSc programmes offer double degrees, exchanges, and great options such as CEMS. I am not planning to open my own business after my Masters (or in the near future), and want to ideally specialise in hospitality management / client experience / brand management / event management (definitely a client-facing, organisational role - I worked on a big hospitality programme for a year and know that this is where my strengths lie).
I'd just like to get a clear understanding on which programme would be most suitable for me because I am a little bit confused.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Many thanks
Kate
