For the application essay, I wonder what would be the best essay structure to follow. I can write it as I am telling a story. This would be easier since there will be a theme. But it may not be easy to answer the specific questions asked. I can also write it in traditional structure with intro/body/conclusion. Every paragraph in the body will focus on specific question (such as in goal statement essay). This approach does not allow me to tell a great story in chronological order nor let me to introduce a theme effectively. What would you guys do? Please give me some advice.
It is extremely difficult (and unreliable) to answer this question without knowing what you are replying to or having read your answer. Sometimes one appraoch will work and sometimes the other approach. In general people like stories, and adcom members are people. Keep in mind, however, that the question tell you what they want to know. So make sure that when they finish reading the story they know the answer to their questions.
Frequentty when I review an essay, I read it in its entirety and then look at the question. I then make sure I can answer all parts of the question based on what I have just read. It's a good check.
Good luck!
