I have only applied to one MBA program (ranked somewhere between 50-& 100 on usnews). However, in the last few days, I started to realize that my GMAT score is a lot better than I thought. I took the test this morning and was somewhat surprised to score 760. Now I have been encouraged by friends to apply for better-ranked schools. I have checked websites of several schools. Most schools in the top 15 or so are already in the final stage of the process, if their deadlines are not already over. Can anyone suggest a school in the top 15 where my chances are still fairly good?
Here's more about my background: I'm 33, am an international student, have a GPA of equivalent to 3.2 from a British university (though I doubt that the GPA will be weighted heavily; it's from 11 years ago). I am doing my masters degree, and maintain a GPA above 3.9 currently (probably doesn't count for much either). I have worked for 6 years as a music teacher in an asian country, and this I think could be a weakness, since it is not something that is directly related to MBA. Can anyone give me some insight about how schools (particularly Havard, Stanford, Cornell, NYU) will view my work experience, and perhaps suggest ways I could present this?
Any ideas / comments would be appreciated!
