Good Afternoon,
I am interested in doing the Northwestern 1 year MBA program and would like to get an idea of where I stand as a candidate.
Basics:
Undergraduate University: Southern Methodist University
Degrees: BBA Finance with Honors , BA in Economics
Special Curriculums: Took a very aggressive approach and sought to take as many challenging courses as possible. My Finance degree included significant graduate level coursework and my Economics degree was centered around Econometrics, which was taken primarily with graduate students. This level of coursework also came with the benefit of invites to special lectures and guest speaker participation.
Awards: I received multiple undergraduate awards, distinguishments and scholarships due to academic performance and served in multiple leadership positions in various clubs.
Overall GPA: 3.85 (Magna Cum Laude)
GMAT: 700
Post undergraduate position: Investment Banking Analyst (Oil & Gas Focus)
Spent 1.5 years at a strong capital markets focused investment bank where I worked on numerous lead IPOs, High Yield issuances and other capital market processes along with various strategic alternative proposals. Was offered a third year position at this bank and declined. Shortly thereafter I accepted an identical position at an "elite boutique" M&A focused firm in order to gain more experience in strategic advisory. So far the experience has been very strong.
I am currently approaching the end of my second year and would look to apply for admissions following my third year.
Please let me know if you would like me expand on anything else.
Thank you
