This is Dhirendra, working with Indian Navy and in search of advice on following aspects!.... :-
1) What is the value of Military Experience with MBA?.
2) What programs might suite me (10+ yrs experience, age 34)
3) Considerations in choosing and aplying for programes?.. ( how to go about it?... hey I am really foxed by the plethora of programs available, how to segregate them and go for one)
4) What GMAT score to attain. (present gmat score aug 2011- 680, Q-50, V-33, dis was wid 1 month haphazard preparation, i think i can improve sustantialy. how much I have to score for good chance and decent scholarship?)

Thanks for your post To answer your questions:
1. Highly valued.
2. Look for programs where the average age at matriculation is 29+. That's a good sign.
However, if there is a program or two that you really are interested in and are otherwise qualified for even if the age is lower, you can still try. Also consider the Sloan Fellows programs and Cornell Johnson's accelerated MBA program.3. I deal with this at length in my book (which is available in India from both Flipkart and Amazon), MBA Admission for Smarties. The book provides strategy and tactics for a successful MBA application.
4. a 680 (if balanced) is a decent score. At many, many programs it is competitive score. However, if you want to aim for top programs, then you may want to retake with a serious, consistent effort, just do the best you can and then deal with the results A 720 would do wonders.
