Develop and manage project plans for over 9 technology projects at a global technology-based organization under restricted resources

Want to do an MBA in social enterprise/entrepreneurship
Here is why I want an MBA and why I think now is a good time.
I have been a tech manager at an educational not-for-profit for close to six years now and during my six years I've grown from a developer to managerial role. I have obtained a rare combination of skills and experience i.e. technology, international education and youth exchange. I'd love to utilize this skill set in starting a social enterprise on my own. Given my managerial experience at a NFP, I've realized there is so much I don't know. For example: How do I draft budgets? How does one attract more funding into an organization? How do I develop a strategy for entire organization the next 4-5 years? What kind of factors does one need to consider while planning ahead? How do I market the mission of my organization? How do I attract people to come work for an organization?
Columbia has brilliant staff and a great social enterprise program. I think Columbia's Non-Profit Board Leadership is an excellent opportunity to view the upper layers of management of a NFP from an external point of view.
I could stick around longer without an MBA but that only pushes my goal of starting something on my own farther away. Had I started an MBA two years ago I would have done it just to make career switch into management. Now, I exactly know what I want to be when I come out of business school two years later.
I am applying to ISB, Columbia, Yale. Do you think I can get in to any one of them in R1?

Thanks for your posting.
You certainly have an interesting background and have worked hard to in both professional and academic environments. Although you have many positive aspects to your candidacy, there are a few red flags that concern me a bit: namely your GPA in graduate school and your GMAT score. What concerns me most is that these two experiences are your most recent academic experiences and they are not that competitive. Adding problems to this is that you come from a very competitive demographic (Indian tech professionals) and most candidates from this sub-pool have higher grades and GMAT scores. To conclude -- you have no margin of error left in your application and everything else has to be stellar moving forward.
As for your school choice, your chances at Columbia are not great. However, if you want to try, you have to submit a great application. Your chances are better at Yale and ISB, although not totally guaranteed.
Given your career goals, I would recommend expanding the list of schools that you apply to. I usually recommend that somebody in your situation apply to around 6 schools. I would not limit yourself at this time by being super selective on the schools you are applying to -- and would encourage you to look at Johnson, Ross, Anderson and Darden.
