Thank you for your response. It was really helpful. I was hoping that having worked and performed well at established firms may oversight my GMAT score.

That's what I hope too, but I can't advise or assess on the basis of my hopes. It's possible. Is it likely, not at LBS and INSEAD. It's more likely at Judge and Said.

Given that you've taken the exam 3 times and you do otherwise have an excellent profile, I think you should apply and just see how it goes. Maybe, as we both hope, they will accept you based on the other elements in your profile. If they don't, you can either consider a different approach to test prep (private tutor?) or other programs, perhaps R2 or next year.

Best,
Linda

Hi Linda,

Quick update. I took the GMAT again and scored a 680 (Q47, V36). Though my verbal improved but my quant went down. Do you think an improvement of 20 points make a difference? Since I am applying to the top schools, do you think I need to write about my multiple GMAT attempts (x4) in the optional essays? Thanks.

I believe that INSEAD takes the highest score on each segment so this test really improves you profile, if INSEAD still does that. While it would have been better had you quant not gone done so much, you still have that 50 from the previous exam. I think this is still better. Will it make the difference? There's only one way to find out: apply.

Given everything else in your favor, I am now becoming somewhat less pessimistic about LBS and INSEAD, especially if INSEAD considers the highest score on verbal and the highest on quant. I think you have strengthened your competitiveness at Judge and Said.

Best,
Linda
