Hello,
I'm going to apply for business schools by the end of this year and am aware of the first round deadlines I'm aiming for. My GMAT date is set for September 11th, and I was wondering what schools I should be targeting. I am interested in an MBA in either HR, Marketing or General Management and am aiming for a 700+ score.
Like everyone else, I'd like to apply for the best schools, so I was wondering how high can I aim for with my profile. Realistically I'd rather apply for schools I have a good chance of getting into than aiming too high and falling short. I've shortlisted a couple of schools I'm interested in, please let me know the chances I have and if I've missed something I should be looking at.

I realize this is a lot of schools and I honestly have no idea about what schools are good for the specializations I'm looking for. I had sent my CV for review to Oxford and the consultant replied that my work experience, though not full time, counts. Post MBA I'm looking at taking my startup company forward as well as start a new social startup or add it to current company as a non profit arm.
My profile is as follows:

Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communications Engineering at Geethanjali College of Engineering and Technology (Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh), Class of 2014 - 65% aggregate currently.
11th and 12th Grade from Narayana Junior College (Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh), Class of 2010 - 65%
10th Grade from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Bolarum (Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi), Class 0f 2008 - 84%

As for your short listing exercise...I think it has a ways to go still
Overall, you have an interesting profile and I like it. Your work experience most assuredly counts if you were in a self created start up. Depending on how successful you were or what scope of responsibilities you had, it could trump some of your peers. Don't discount that for a moment. And that's not all you do - you're involved in a host of other positions and activities! I'm not going to spend a lot of time telling you you're in a good spot. You are. Your GPA is a little low but it isn't the end of the world.
The unfortunate part, however, is my answer to your question. You probably shouldn't be looking to R1 deadlines. If you take your GMAT in early September, that doesn't give you nearly enough time to set your strategy and execute applications. You're better off applying R2 (yes, I know, everyone says R1 but that only applies if you're in the position to do so). Don't rush for R1 and shoot yourself in the foot because you rushed!
For the goals you have and the things you're interested in, there are a host of schools you could apply to. The ones you've listed are all vastly different in terms of curriculum, culture, networks, etc.
Here's what it comes down to - take your GMATs in September and see how you do. We could assume you get a 700+ but it does no good if you don't get that or you far exceed it. This is a purely hypothetical discussion at this point. Once you have that in hand (and you're happy with it), then get your nose to the grindstone. Finalize your school list, establish your strategies for those schools, and get moving on those applications!
I wish I could give you a better answer but without your GMAT and as an Indian applicant, there isn't much more we can do with school selection at this point.

My intention with this post was to get a rough idea about what schools are out of my reach and what can be considered "safe". I realize without a GMAT score this will be difficult, so on the basis of my profile I was wondering if I could be given some advice on the same. I will definitely consider applying in round 2, that is valuable advice!
