Hey aa2012 - sorry for leaving you waiting, we've been a little crazy based on the time of the year.
You've got a decent profile but as the other consultant told you - and you already know - you're coming at this from an oversubscribed applicant pool, which makes everything tricky. However, the schools you've named are eminently reasonable. You're showing some humility, in fact, by asking us about them instead of the typical "Can I get into Harvard??" question.
AND!! There's hope! The Success Story that went up on our site last week is from someone working in analytics too, with a semi-similar background as yours, who ended up at a great school - higher-ranked than the ones you've named. We'd even encourage you to go for at least one more competitive school than you've tossed out so far, no reason not to. If you do a good job on your essays you could make it. The essays count for just as much as everything else that you named - perhaps more, in fact. They're hard to do well but they can make all the difference.
You have a bit of a challenge with the prior PGP. Some schools may want you to explain why you need an MBA on top of that. We get it, the PGP is quite different in so many ways than the 2-year full-time MBA, but still, it's essentially the same - a graduate education in business. Sometimes people have trouble breaking into an MBA program when they present with the PGP already in the background. You just need to explain why the MBA is important for you now, based on what you want to do next.
Your goals are good and it's an industry that's only growing. One school we'd name for you to consider might be NYU - they actually have an analytics (Big Data) curriculum or even a certificate of some sort (forgetting which at the moment, you can investigate and report back if you like).
Beyond that, we're unable to ferret out the reasons why you've named these 4 schools. Care to shed some light on that? It's a good mix and they're mostly smaller programs, mostly away from big cities, but they're also quite different in many ways. If you want to share your criteria and decision-making process for how you ended up with this set, then we can do more to either say yay or nay to the individual ones on the list and potentially suggest others too. These are some really great programs and we don't see why you'd need to expand the list for Round 1, necessarily; when people do a bang-up job on 4 apps they usually see an admit coming from it - provided they're pitching things correctly.
Let us know where you're coming from on that and we'll try to offer more substantive feedback on the school list.
