Regarding the retake, won't it be late for me as i will not be able to apply this year for sure and disadvantageous if i consider the possibility of a lower score? (though not from a pessimistic point of view :) )

You're most welcome.

Obviously a lower score wouldn't help you at all. However schools take the highest score. There's only one way to go: up.

If you don't feel you can prepare well enough to raise your score and take the exam in late November, then you are probably correct that waiting to apply until next year would be best. If you take it in late November, you should have time to prepare several apps by the January deadlines.

Another option is to apply now and see how you do. If you are not accepted, then you reapply.

A third possibility is to change the schools you are applying to and apply to programs where you are more likely to get accepted this year. That was my recommendation in my previous response.
