This is going to be my last thread on this topic, I promise!
I graduated in 2010 from a generic public university with a BS in Engineering and Economics, 3.02 GPA. I worked 30-40 hrs/wk during school, was politically active and active in some non-political EC's. I'm planning on applying next fall to matriculate 2015.
I know my GPA is a weak spot. Last year I took a grad level business course and received an A. I had to ask permission from the professor to take the course because it was so high in the program that I didn't have any prerequisites satisfied (or their prerequisites). I also passed the CFA Level 1 first try in June, and just sat for the GMAT and received a 750 on my first try.
I also participated in an investment banking/private equity case competition last January. My team got to the finals. I'm planning on participating again this year if I take another course (you have to be a student to participate).
My question is, is one course and all of this enough for an alternative transcript to offset my ugrad GPA? If not, how many more courses would I need to take and get A's in? I'm probably going to take another course in the spring so that'd be two courses.
This GPA is just a weak spot on my resume and I want to destroy it as a potential ding source.
