If you really have your heart set on applying to top-tier programs, I think the best things you can do before R1 are (a) raise the GMAT to mid 700s at least; you'd need probably around 720-730 to be minimally qualified for such programs given your profile overall); (b) push forward your track record of leadership and impact at work as much as possible. For the latter, imagine yourself as an adcom member at Stanford or Haas, reviewing applications from well qualified Indians in the IT sector -- what work experience would make you stand out among this group and make the adcom think "WOW!" That's what you should aim for at your work.
