Please evaluate my profile:
Indian male 27 yrs old.
GMAT : 750 (Q50;V41)
College : BE IT from one of the top private universities in India. GPA 7.27/10
Work Ex: 5.5 yrs
Current: Founder and head of water purification company (annual $50K revenue). Started working in the company full time since August 2012.
Previous: Worked as a systems engineer at Infosys (received top 1+ rating) and business development at Oracle (Got top sales rep award)
Extra curricular:
School :
Chief Secretary for Annual Science Festival at school. was involved in fund raising and organizing the event.
Won 2nd prize honda science olympiad. A science oriented quiz which involved schools from my state.
Got merit certificate from school for all round general excellence.
College :
Member of organizing team for college festival where I Organized the computer gaming competition. Also member of organizing team for various other events like international conferences etc.
Founded an organization called 'SARAN' and organized rock shows to raise money for local orphanage.
Currently working with NGO's to provide potable water to villages, slum areas, government schools etc. Have executed projects which have brought potable water to over a 100 households.
Applying for the fall 2015 intake.
Target schools : Need help with this one. I'm not sure which schools would gel with my background.
Post MBA goals: Entrepreneurship / Working the renewable resources sector

Thanks for posting and sorry for the delay - it was the 4th in the States and we were out celebratin' our freedom
. So let's see what we've got here...
Academics
Amazing GMAT? Check! Congrats!! Tier II school? Check. Solid GPA. Check. Is that 1st for your graduating class? You're pretty good to go on the academic front it seems.
Professional Experiences
You've had a pretty interesting career path to date. It seems you started out the traditional Indian way out of school - took a solid job at a blue chip company. Secure, stable. Then it seems you realized you didn't want to be on the tech side of things and moved to sales? Seems you excelled there too. Then, once again an assumption, you were like, "this isn't what I'm passionate about" and you left to found this water purification company. What I would be interested in learning more about is why water purification? What's next?
Involvement
You seem to be tying your NGO work with your company and that's great. It seems water is a cause that's close to your heart. However, it seems to be a bit on the new side? A 100 households is a commendable endeavor but it seems like a young one.
Goals
You have the entrepreneurial experience in your back pocket but what do you really mean entrepreneurship post MBA? Does that mean start your own thing or work for a start up? If it's your own thing, then you have to be careful and research US start up law. If it's work for a start up, you need to do your research too because not everyone can sponsor foreign nationals (nor do they want to, sometimes).
Schools
If you're interested in sustainability / renewable resources, there's good news and bad news. The good news is I have a school list for you. The bad news is there aren't too many schools to choose from. So you have Stanford, MIT, Haas, Ross, Duke, and McCombs pretty much. There are others that might have "sustainability" programs but not to that level.

I'm currently looking at tying my story together along with the reasons why I started the company. My GPA is certainly not the best in my university or class, but i'm hoping to use my GMAT to cover that up. As far as household's I missed a 0
, its actually close to a thousand (1000 households). I looked up the MIT-Sloan sustainability program and it sounds really interesting but I was looking towards a more general management type course, with a strong brand name. I really appreciate you bringing up the US laws bit about entrepreneurship and the fact that most start-ups would not like to sponsor a foreign candidate. This is something I have completely missed and will have to work on. Not sure if should mention this angle at all. I think it would be a better idea to pass out of B-School and look for a job in companies who are into renewable resources and learn from there.
The reason for opening a water purification company stems from the time when I was working in bangalore. There everyone I knew was using bottled water for drinking purposes because the normal water was contaminated. The water purifiers to fix this were expensive and would not remove the dissolved impurities in the water. Logically it seemed that there should be a market for simple and low cost water purification solutions. So that's where the idea came from.
The ultimate plan would be to run more projects where I can provide sustainable water purification solutions to more households. I executed a project in a village here in India to provide potable water at a nominal rate ($.01), which allowed us to maintain the water treatment plant as well. I would like to do more projects like these to impact larger communities in the future.
Do you feel I have a good chance at Yale ?
