Indian Male based out of Mumbai Age: 28
GMAT- 720 Q-50 V-38 IR-7
Years studied: 12+3
Degree- Bachelors of science in Biotechnology percentage-73.5% aggregate from Mumbai university (Distinction)
Work experience: ~6 years at the time of application ,Primarily marketing and sales and Business development.
After graduation worked as a marketing and business development executive in a family owned Engineering plastics manufacturing based out of Mumbai. Also got a chance to understand and participate in technical aspects of business including production and supply chain management.Had a overall exposure to various aspects of the business and the Indian plastic market.
Was responsible for starting a PET recycling unit from the ground up with a monthly capacity of 25 tonnes having a team of 15 people working for me. Had a annual turnover of 250000 dollar.
Duration: 2 years
Working as a marketing and sales executive for a real estate development company based out of Mumbai. Joined the company when it was only 2 years young. Raised more than 6.25 million $ via sales in the first project of the company as a part of a three member team. Was involved in deciding the corporate strategy and product design as well as brand building activities.Also was managing direct promotions via various advertisement channels and via selective channel partners.
Within a span of 4 years the asset under management of the company has grown by 600 % whereas the net worth has grown by ~500 %.Also was exposed to Purchase activities of the company and Contracts department. Pro-actively took part in various day-today activities of the company.
Working simultaneously as a Consultant for a Wealth management team (a sister concern). Had to scout,evaluate and offer pre-leased properties and structured real-state transactions for H.N.I. clients. Catered to various requirements from more then 40 relationship managers managing more then 2000 clients. Sales led to successful launch of Real-state advisory unit.
Duration: ~4 years
Extracurricular activities: Did not get a chance to participate in lot of activities as was working throughout in a start-up environment and was working almost on 60% of weekends.
Participated and won a intra college project competition in college called 'Physex'.
Won a inter-college quiz competition called "Whistance" by Wilson College.
Was a runner-up in inter college quiz competition called "Luminescence" by Mithibai college.
Was involved in door to door charity drive for NAB- national association of the blind from 3rd grade to 9th grade.
Coached and tutored below average students while in high school and college.
Raised money via sale of items made by fellow students in school, annually for various charitable organization.
In my free time i like to watch movies,trek, travel and compete in online gaming competitions,love meeting new people and have a large appetite for different cultural paradigms around the globe.I have a orange belt in Karate and have participated in Badminton tournaments at state level.
Am passionate about biology,politics,world history and alternative history and world religions.
Reasons for pursuing MBA: Want to compliment my technical education and marketing,sales and business development experience with a formal business education to hone my General management and Entrepreneur skills.Also to receive a international and global view point (Though i have travelled to various countries in Europe and to Thailand for pleasure and sight seeing.)
Post MBA goal: Would like to work in middle management of a top ranking company in a consulting/business development role and would then want to start my own venture.
Additional info: Am the first graduate in my family,Am married and just had a baby a month back.
College preference:
Europe: INSEADS, HEC paris , Mannheim business school, London business school, IMD
US :Yale,Booth
Canada: IVEY,Queens,Sauders.

Your background is distinctive and interesting – an asset that you should make the most of in your essays and application overall.
Your target school list is sound – it includes some reaches, but reasonable ones (the kind of reach you should apply to), and on-par level programs. The reaches are Insead, LBS, Yale, and Booth. I do think it will be quite a stretch to gain funding from these programs, however. The other schools are on-pars and some perhaps closer to safeties, and the funding likelihood increases therefore.
