Hi I got a 660 on my gmat the first time (44 math, 36 verbal).
Then yesterday I retook it and got a 660 (42 math, 40 verbal). I chose to send this score to none of the schools I am applying to, instead wanting to see what I got before choosing who to send it too. My question is whether I should send this score to the six schools I plan to apply to.
They already know I am at the level of 660, but does the second score make me look more balanced or just weaker quantitatively? Should I just send this score to the schools whose avg gmat score it exceeds? In other words sending it to the schools with avg gmat scores of 640, but not to those with avg gmat scores of 680 and 690?
Any input you guys have would be much appreciated.
Oh yeah, and I was a Communications major in college. Not sure if this matters, but it's worth noting when trying to see if a certain score makes me appear week quanitatively.

Hi,
660 is a decent GMAT score.You can send a note to B-schools to whom you are applying that you gave a GMAT score and you scored the same score.Atleast, that will show to those schools that you gave a try.I believe that your second GMAt score is a better score as it is a more of a balanced GMAT score and it covers the 80% range.
You can apply to all the good B-schools, such as Columbia, Darden or even stanford, becasue GMAT is one of the factors of the application and as long as you are in the middle 80% range of their GMAt score, you have a considerable chance of getting into that B-school.
Your communications degree can help you if you can somehow relate it to your career goals.

One concern I have though is reinforcing my 660 with schools who have a higher avg gmat score. I may be within their 80 percent range, but its definitely at the lower end of the range. If I don't send another 660 to them (and they only get to view my first score) perhaps they might believe I am capable of a higher score if I were to retake the test.
As for schools with 640 as their avg gmat, doesn't it seemd like two scores above their average are better than one regardless of the breakdown?
