This is regarding the application approach for European and US schools.

Do the way adcoms in European schools evaluate applications differently from the way adcoms in US schools do?
[The reason I am saying this is I have seen applications[for reference only] of three-four friends of mine who got an admit in insead, lbs, their application essays were very very simple [no details of what was the situation, what action they took and what results they got.] One of them even got the scholarship!
Their approach totaly contradict of what you have mentioned in your book or what I have seen in other books!

Their profile is an avg profile that belongs to a common stream that seeks for an MBA.

Any comments?

No i dont think so cause few of my friends had tried for both american schools as well as european schools and they had been evaluated in a quite stringent manner. Its nothing like that . Its just how lucky you are to get through these hurdles....[/b]

Thanks for your response,

Did your friends got an admit from the US schools or European schools or from both?
Were there profile somewhat unique or a common one that seeks for an MBA?

yeah they got offers from both of them. One was a software engineer and the other has done masters in finance. And both had 4 and 5 yrs work ex respectively. I would suggest u that dont get carried away with all these . Just give ur best shot when u r applyin to a college. everythin would be in place...

LBS and INSEAD evaluate applicants in a similar fashion to the way in which US schools evaluate applicants, although European schools (and other international schools) do tend weight numbers (GMAT, GPA, Work Experience) more heavily than do US schools. Still the similarities far outweigh the differences.
