Hi Jon,

Thanks for replying :).

Yes, I meant Rotman.
I would also like to add Duke or Yale in my B-schools list. Please suggest any other B school which you think is best suited to my profile.

So just to give you some more details of my profile.

- Volunteered and participated in team building activities.
Every friday we have fun activities for like 30-60 min in evening when we plan some game events for all the 40 members in our team.
It's like we leave the stress for the whole week behind and play like kids, even the higher management people participate in it.
I have been conducting and managing these events since i joined the project.

- extra curricular activities
* Organised club and game events for children in my society.
* Have a 2 years degree in vocal Classical Music and have also performed in family clubs, school's and college competitions.
* I have a keen interest in dress designing and home decor.Have tried this at my home and relatives as well. Most of my and my friend's/relatives clothes are designed by myself. (Specially Indian Traditional)
* Participated in many dance group performances, rangoli and art events in college and company.

Work experiences:
* I have conducted trainings and knowledge transfer events as when i joined the team it was a 4 people team and now its grown to more than 25 members.
* Main challenge was training the new joiners to understand and to bring out the best in them which helped the whole team to become productive.
* As a senior member of the team i have represent the team in many meeting conducted with clients online.
* worked in agile projects where the requirements change every minute and we need to adapt to the requirements.
* Did documentation which have been used by all the new comers in the project to understand the preliminary incidents of the project in less span of time.
* Have made some scripts which has automated few functions and have reduced the manual effort.

Social activities:
* Participated in accenture's CSR events.Which involved visiting schools and helping children with their studies, spending time with them and teaching them how to cope up with challenges.
* Have been self involved in teaching underprivilaged kids in my society.(I used to enjoy it the most)
* Raised considerable funds for Help Age India.(door to door collection)

Thanks,
Prashansa

Hey Prashana,
So basically looks like you are doing very well! :) I especially like the training/mentoring stuff and I think that is particularly strong.

As for Yale and Duke, probably its best to make that decision after you get your score :)

Best of luck!

And write me back as soon as you know,
Cheers,
Jon

Prashansa,

Assuming a GMAT of 700+, you have a very good shot at those programs, with Booth being the most challenging one but still one worth applying to. What do you want to do after business school and where do you ideally want to live? While you can certainly move around, I always recommend choosing a program in the region you are interested in working. If you would enjoy working in the US for instance, take a look at NYU Stern and Yale SOM as a couple other options. Feel free to reach out for additional guidance or if you have any other questions.

There is certainly enough time for Round 2 applications at this point if you get started soon. Good luck!

You don't see a lot of folks from the automotive industry here! Your profile is a bit unique which is nice. What company do you work for? We can discuss off of the forum if you don't want to list it publicly. Your coaching experience is great. How big was that company that you ran as CEO? That is exciting work that can be worked into the essays to paint a nice picture.

The schools you selected are appropriate for you, but I would add 1-2 additional schools that you have a much better shot at if you want to hedge your bets a bit. Have you thought about NYU Stern for instance?

Hi There!

Your profile looks good. I'd like to know what you want to do post MBA which will help us decide on schools. Your ECs are impressive and a detailed description of your profile ( detailed work responsibilities, sizes of teams led,any budget handled.,leadership experiences etc)will help me gauge it better.
