Going to post this here too!
I'm in a predicament! I'm a current junior (A semester ahead of schedule) at a small liberal arts college. I play a college sport there, and pay next to nothing <5000 a year including room and board.
My dream is to get an MBA at a top school, preferably in Europe. However, my top choice is to do the Grand Ecole program at HEC.
Here is where my decision gets tough:
I was accepted into a public school university study abroad program just recently, which would send me to Europe for a year and I would earn an economics degree at a school in Belgium, and also a degree from the public school. It would definitely make my gpa drop, as the school in Belgium is taught entirely in French, and is 40-50% math based. It would also make me graduate on time, rather than early, but that's not a huge issue.
My only concern is getting into an Mba/Ecole program after graduation. Would 2 degrees be worth the cost (20,000$ extra) and look better to mba programs than say, a 3.7 gpa at my current school? The reason I mention cost is because I don't want to pay a good bit of extra money that offers no tangible benefit to me. If it does, I have no problem paying it.
The University in Belgium is the Catholique de Louvain
GPA is at a 3.5 right now in Business Management
GMAT hasn't been taken, but without any real studying or focus I am trending in the mid 600's, so I would hope to get a high score once I spend more time solely on that.
