I am a post graduate in Life sciences with 6 years of experience in sales & marketing of pharmaceutical machinery & microbiology automation products. Will a one year MBA enhance my career opportunities as compared to the various diploma/certificate programs available. Should i consider a GMAT or CAT? I am looking to pursue my MBA in the year 2017-18. Can you throw some light on the universities in India & Asia along with their pre requisites. On the academic front i am average with a consistent 65% right from class X to Msc Biotech. Will this have a major impact on my chances of enrolling into a good b school? What should be an ideal GMAT score for my profile?
Detailed guidance will be appreciated.

Dear Nutan,
Given the function (sales and marketing) you are in, the value a top tier MBA can bring to your career will be hard to match by any other technical/managerial certification course. You can get a detailed understanding of the process of applying here.
Unless there is a personal reason, I don't think you should delay this and instead, should target the session starting in 2016. ISB, NUS, HKUST, NTU, IIMs could be some of the courses in your geography.

Thank you for the valuable inputs. 2017-18 would be ideal considering my personal commitments,however I would like to know where my profile stands wrt one year mba standards. As mentioned in my previous post my educational background is as follows.
Class X - 65%
Class XII - 56%
BSc Biotechnology- 67%
MSc Biotechnology-66%
Worked as key product manager (sales&mktg) for 5.9yrs until 2015 (extensive experience in diverse sectors of pharmaceutical packaging,containment solutionsµbiology) - solutions selling,competitive product positioning,market research &planning
Currently working with a organisation that specialises in instrumentation - role includes business development,product positioning & marketing of niche instrumentation products nationally
Volunteer - actively involved in fundraising activities & conducted medical awareness programmes with a students initiative for the needy,disabled & deprived children
I am yet to give gmat however do I stand a chance to get through to any of the top universities with a score below 700.
My mba objective has two goals, long term entrepreneurial goal &short term goal of getting into consultative marketing& sales.
Please share yours thoughts on Great Lakes,XLRI & imt for the one year program. Also highlight on the roi.
