Hello Shawn,
I was wondering if I could get a quick profile evaluation and get a second opinion?
Q1. Fine-tuning Verbal sectionMy goal is to apply to
a few of the M7 schools this year. I took GMAT twice:
first round: two months of self-studying part-time Q50 V30 total 680
second round: two weeks of self-studying part-time Q50 V34 total 700
I would like to re-take again, and I realize that I need to work on verbal. what do you recommend? I dont think the in-person live GMAT classes are going to work for me because they tend to focus on introduction to the test, quant, and other subjects that I am not interested in. What do you recommend that is really suitable to fine-tune the verbal section only?
Q2. What schools?I got my undergrad internationally in middle east, GPA 3.9. I worked for a year in Dubai. Then got masters and PhD in engineering from University of California with GPA 3.7. Then worked for 3.5 years full-time for an environmental consulting firm in San Francisco with a project management focus. I am hoping to move into finance or management consulting. I just applied this year to the part-time program at Haas in Berkeley, and got wait-listed twice and finally got rejected. That was the only school I had applied though. I am going to boost my work experience and apply to a few M7 schools during round 1. With my international background, GPA, PhD in engineering, environmental consulting work experience, project management role, and finance career aspiration, what school do you think I would have
a higher chance of admission? Ideally I want to only apply to about 3-4 of the M7 schools only.
Thank you very much for your help
