Hi,
I have a question about job changes. I have been with my current employer for 3 years, and I am planning to apply for MBA either round 1 or round 2 this year. However, a job opportunity just came up and I am considering taking it. Is switching jobs 1-3 months before applications unconditionally bad for the top 15 schools (meaning I shouldn't even bother applying this year anymore) or is it ok if I can explain how this new job can benefit me? Thanks!

No, it's definitely not unconditionally bad. But, you'll need to answer these questions convincingly: 1) Why are you switching?... 2) Why now?... 3) If the new opportunity is so great, are you sure that you want to go to school now?... 4) if you do get into b-shcool and decide to go next fall, how much will you really get out of the new job for 8-10 months?
