Hi, I am applying for business schools this fall and was wondering if I could get a profile review.
- 24 American multiracial male (better list white or multiracial? Not an URM)
- GMAT: 50Q, 42V, 760Total
- Undergrad: Mechanical Engineering from a top 50 University (State public school)
- GPA: 3.7
- Work experience: Currently 2 years of full time employment, 3 years at time of matriculation
- 1.5 years as oil field engineer in Central & West Africa for a leading international oil company, voted by peers as best performer in class at training school in UAE. One promotion. Managed work crews and dealt with operation logistics and billing
- Current full time employee (8 months) and past part time employee (2 years) of small family business - sporting event hospitality. Managed work crews and managed certain clients' invoicing, quotes, and equipment sources
- Previous college work experience: 1.5 years as engineering lab TA, summer in an NSF REU researcher in another state university, 6months as research assistant in home university lab
- MBA goals: Business or product strategy/marketing for tech companies or startups, eventually leading into starting own technology business in emerging African markets
- Goal schools: Stanford, Harvard, Sloan, Berkeley, Kellogg, Wharton, Columbia, Booth (any I should drop or add?)

Thanks for sharing your profile. Think you have a great background that a lot of schools will certainly love to have. Your strong GPA/GMAT will stand out in the application process especially given your status as a biracial applicant. I would suggest if you are biracial and fall under the US minority designation then definitely check that box, particularly since minorities are notably absent in many MBA programs which will help you stand out even more. You are in play at all of the schools listed although your list is pretty long and if you wanted to drop a few Columbia and Booth would be my choices given your career choices. You are a young candidate so you will still have to make a strong case for "Why MBA" and "Why Now" so keep in mind that the AdComm will be scrutinizing your maturity throughout your application so make sure you are buttoned up here.
