Hi All,
I have written my Gmat yesterday and I scored a 690 (q49, v35).
Which schools should I consider applying?
I am a female IT engineer from India with 3.5 yrs of experience and above average academics throughout my life.
I am a Gold Medalist in B.E. and 3.5/5 in undergrad(Bachelor of Engineering in Bio-medical) with decent extra curriculars throughout.
I was targetting few schools like:
1) Kelly
2) Mays (T & AM)
3) ISB, Hyderabad
Please advise is it realistic to get an admit from these schools? What would be my chances of scholarship? Other than the above, Which schools do you advise should I apply to in order to maximize my chances of admit and even scholarship? I know my score is not great but I want to go for fall 2016.
Also please suggest some good schools for non profit MBA which I can apply to, at 690 gmat, as i have interest there and also have decent amount of curricular in this field.

Thanks for the information. What school did you go to for undergrad and what is your exact company and current role?
Based on that, I'll give more specific advice. You don't stand a great shot at ISB if you are looking for a scholarship based on what I see here.

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your information. Before we get into the details of school selection, we must understand fit. What are your short and long-term goals? This will help filter schools in and out of your target list. While academic profile and GMAT scores are critical, those should be used as a secondary filter since you want to make sure the schools you are targeting give you the best shot at achieving your goals. Regardless of the school you're looking at, if a scholarship is important to you, you may want to consider retaking the GMAT. Especially in your applicant pool, GMAT scores are awfully competitive, so a score of 720-730+ will put you in a much better position. If you've only taken the GMAT once, I would recommend giving it another try next month.
As far as schools that have strong programs and recruitment opportunities for nonprofits, you might also want to consider Georgetown. This will be a stretch opportunity for you, but one that might be worthwhile if you're able to boost your GMAT and effectively articulate your past experiences in nonprofit work.
