Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your background. To answer your question directly, no, your UGPA won't eliminate your chances alone, however it's a steep uphill climb at a top (10) program. I'd think about schools in the top 15-30. For folks who have a low UGPA, we recommend developing an alternative transcript, but you've done that already with a 4.0 at a masters program in accounting, so that is a plus. And congrats on a killer GMAT! Nice work. This also helps, but the main question will be - what changed? A 2.5 GPA in UG in accounting says you didn't love it. But then you build a career out of it, and now you continue to specialize in that area. Given that you're on the accounting track, why do you need an MBA? What do you hope to do in the next 2-3 years? 8-10 years? Is a traditional full-time MBA the right move for you? Or will a part-time or Executive program help you achieve your goals as well?
Now, your age and your lack of involvement will be put into question as well. The age issue can be addressed with how you align your goals and your essays. Or, if you decide to go part-time or the Executive route, it won't be an issue. If you truly have no involvement, there isn't much we can do about that now, but you'll need to consider how you demonstrate your passion and willingness to give back to your community in some other way. Are there extracurriculars that you do at work that benefit the community? What other work do you do that truly makes an impact on others?
Hope this information helps. Feel free to get back to us with the answers to the above questions. Also, feel free to check out
