Hello Guys,
Have been on gmatclub for over 6 months. For some reason I couldn't log back in with my old ID. So made a new one. I would like to thank everyone here for all the help and information that has been provided. Because I talked about gmatclub a little too much to my friends, one of them who has already given her GMAT wanted some advice in terms of admissions. She has already applied to ISB and INSEAD, but is confused about the other schools she should consider. So here's her profile:
1. She has five years of experience working in media organisations such as Times Now and CNN-IBN.
2. She completed her undergrads in Lady Sriram College, Delhi University and her masters from Cardiff University in International Journalism.
3. Her GMAT Score is 700
4. She would preferably want to do a one year program in Marketing but is open to a 2 year program too.
I apologise in advance if I have missed out anything or have missed out on any posting rules of gmatclub. But any advice would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you.

Hey dude,
Well let's say that first of all, obviously I'm gonna need a LOT more info about here. Sure she's worked 5 years in some great places, but as WHAT? Anchor? Intern? Writer? Production Manager? ???? I also don't know her GPA, her EC activities, her volunteer work....
What I CAN say though is that her profile is very interesting and unique. And that alone can carry things a long way, but for any sort of real evaluation we are gonna need a whole lot more info from you or her.
Best,
JF
Hi JF,
Thanks for the quick response and your inputs.

Yes I figured there would be more information required. So here is the added information I received from her:
1. In terms of ECA - She has performed in numerous plays and was also a trained Indian classical dancer with over 25 stage shows under her belt.
2. Across the organizations she has worked as a writer, producer, shift leader and a show runner - which has given her a lot of material to put forward in terms of showcasing her leadership abilities in the application essays.
3. I do not know her exact GPA, but a rough conversion would be around 3.3 to 3.6
4. In terms of volunteer work, there isn't really anything concrete per say. She volunteered for a non-profit organization for just a year. So she wonders if highlighting it too much will do any good as it was only for a year
If you could give an estimate based on the informations above, it would be extremely helpful. As my concentration will be different and I plan to do a 2 year program, really can't tell her much about what would be the right program for her as she is looking for a 1 year marketing mba program.
Thanks again.
