Prospects for admission

Question

Hi guys!

I'm expecting a GMAT score of around 680 (practice tests are all 700+, so 680 seems like a safe bet), but I'm very doubtful about my admission prospects in the US. The fact is that I've wasted myself educationally and this is the first time that I've actually studied hard which means that I have an average Bachelor's degree and NO experience.

I'd like to go for an MBA or MS Finance, but as I said, I'm really doubtful about my admission prospects. At this time, I really have no idea which colleges I can even apply to (based on my current profile) and I'd really appreciate it if you guys could give me some advice.

Hey there,
Well an MBA is designed for people with work experience, so you won't be eligible yet. But there are plenty of "pre-experience" Masters in Finance that should be open to you depending on your school and your ECs and other stuff (like volunteer work and internships),

Thanks Jon. S you're suggesting that I shouldn't apply even to those MBA programs that don't have work experience as a pre-requisite? And which colleges would you suggest for MS Finance?

All MBA programs (pretty much) require or at least desire that you have work experience (usually 2-3 years minimum). For MFin, go to the best school you can get into. It likely won't be top 5 schools (or maybe even Top 10) but schools below that should be in range.
