Thank you very much for responding. As for extracurriculars, I thimk I don't have any. Do you mean like volunteering and managing groups of people that work towards a goal that's unrelated to my day job? I don't have anything like that. I can start doing it. Do you have any recommendations on where to start?

Thanks.

Hi,

If you have plans of staying in the US for another 3-4 years, I would suggest that you apply to part time MBA programs. Most of them do not need the GMAT or don't expect mind-boggling scores. They are also relatively easier to get into.

Yes, that's exactly what I had in mind. Really anything that shows some engagement outside of work or school. The best place to start is with things that you are naturally passionate about. If you love soccer/football then coach a youth program. If you enjoy giving back to the less fortunate then volunteer to help others. The more honest it is the more authentic it will come across in your application

Hi there,

Thanks for sharing your background. One thing to note is that you're a bit of an older candidate (relative to the bulk of MBA applicants at most schools). With that said, you should be very critical with why you're considering waiting another year or two before applying. Not to say that it isn't the right choice, but be sure that the time spent is justified. For example, are you using your time to take care of the GMAT? Are you going to use the time to build some eminence in your extracurricular activity? Be conscious of these things. Further, think about your narrative. You'll have to solidify your goals - both short and long-term. When you had a chance to reflect and hone in on a particular set of objectives, it'll be time to think about how to build a cohesive story for the AdComm. Hope this information helps. Feel free to get back to us with the answers to the above questions. Also, feel free to check out our free resources to get you started. Best of luck in your preparation!
