Hi there,

To be fair, I think you need to consider the size of the applicant pool (domestic vs. international) and assess their success rate before you truly know whether international students are at a "disadvantage". In fact, international exposure is looked at favorably at most programs. I agree that simply moving to the US and getting a job here isn't going to do anything for you - unless of course the job is actually helping you grow both professionally and personally. Rather than looking for a way to overcome the perceived disadvantage, I would focus on reflecting on your experiences and identify the things that make you unique. What do you bring to the table? How can you contribute to an MBA program - both inside the classroom and out in the community? What is your motivation or inspiration for your goals? These are the things that make you unique and this is the theme/narrative you should strive to develop in your application to stand out of the pack. Best of luck on your next steps!
