Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your background. Since you provided specific questions, I’ll focus on those. For target schools, you may have some trouble cracking the top 20 because of your work experience. Your teaching experience puts you a bit behind the pack as it doesn’t really differentiate you from the crowd. The fact that you started your own business is great, but at the moment the size and scale is rather small, so I encourage you to continue with your plans to grow it as much as you can. Your trading experience, doesn’t sounds like it’s from formal training, so it likely won’t have a significant impact on your profile unless you’re able to demonstrate significant achievement here. I’m glad you listed your goals, but for the moment, they’re not at the level of specificity they should be. I recommend you take some time to reflect on your goals and think about what exactly you want to do. Your academic profile is in good shape, and unless you’re confident you can improve your score by 20+ points, I’d stick with what you have. Wharton is a stretch for you at this stage as are schools in the top 15 for the most part. To offset your lack of work experience, you should spend the next 2-3 trying to look for a business analyst role at a reputable company that gives you the opportunity to take initiative and make a name for yourself. This general experience will serve as a nice stepping-stone for an MBA which can then propel you to achieve your long term goals.
