Exp: 13 years with BPO ITES primarily in functional roles: Business Transformation and Process Excellence
Got 6 vertical promotions in my career, apart from that various stints (usually short, around 2-4 months, during crisis - when sitting individuals resigned) in other functional areas like Workforce Management, Information System, Intranet Development, Service Quality, Sales Manager, Management Consulting
Certifications:
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from American Society of Quality
Registered Coordinator with COPC Inc. CSP 5.0a standards
Lead Auditor ISO 9001:2000 from IRCA
Hobbies:
Avid fitness enthusiast - run 10 KMs 4 to 5 times a week
Conduct Six Sigma Green Belt trainings for a certification body in Bangalore - It helps me getting some extra money about which my boss is not aware of
Reason for MBA now?: The industry I'm working (BPO, ITES) was surging ahead at more than 100% annual growth rate when I joined (2002), but it has come down to 6% - 8% nowadays. Hence it requires now one to be more innovative in his business approach. Example, I'm currently working on a contact reduction project, wherein I'm looking into how to reduce customer contacts through self-help on client website, app, or social media? The project’s success will reduce my organization's revenue, but will help us in getting more business. I think an MBA will help me to equip in how to operate in untested waters, unknown scenarios or innovative business models through case studies?
I finalized on two options to pursue, one is Six Sigma Master Black Belt which will take me further in my functional role (but "only" in my functional role) or second is MBA which will expand my scope and will take me further in a cross-functional role, something that I'm more inclined towards.
I still need to shortlist programs per this requirement and your help will be truly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sandeep
