That's a tough call. Because there is no shortage of Indian applicants, I would apply to at least a couple of schools in round 2, since the number of available seats in round 3 get pretty low. On the other hand, a better GMAT score would certainly help, so you might target a couple more schools for round 3--again, since you are female, and schools are often looking for more women in round 3, you could have a better shot. In short, I would hedge and take a hybrid approach, saving the "better" ranked schools in your target list for round 3 when your GMAT score is improved.

Thanks, Bryant - I really appreciate your feedback.

A combination, hedge and hybrid strategy is the way to go. I will start working on my application and also look at a few more schools where I stand a better chance of getting though with my current score.
