You have a nice profile but ultimately as an Indian applicant your GMAT will certainly play a role in where you fall. What is your GMAT score? If you can score +700 or above the avg score at your target programs then you should be in play at the top 30

Hi,
(24 years, Male, Multiple Profile, Chemical Engineer)
I am new to this forum, so i don't really know how does it actually work. Please evaluate my profile and i want help in career counseling as well.

Work-ex(current to old)
1) Founder of a IT-Event Management startup - 1.5 yrs - Front end design, database collection, handling, feeding, Digital & Conventional Marketing, Business Model, Present in 15 Indian cities. It didn't work out the way i thought, but i haven't shut it down. It is still working but not working full time. Still have around 4500+ organic visits per month
2) sideways working in family business
3) Refinery - (7 months)engineer - led a team of 30 DET's, took initiative for making PFD's of Blending unit(helped managers to take decisions effectively), responsible for reviving a shut down recovery system, imp. role in automation of blending unit
4) Energy consultancy(3 months) - worked on a world bank funded project to reduce carbon footprint in collaboration with SIDBI, energy audit of my office-gave report to CEO- helped i reduction of energy bill

Education:
GATE Exam(conducted by IIT's) - all india rank - 217 ( top 1.5 % of total candidates appeared for the exam)
Graduation : B.E Chemical Engg. - 75.9%
12th Class : - 84.6 %
10th Class : 89.6 %

Social Service :
Founding member of a departmental NGO affiliated with International NGO, engaged in ensuring a sustainable life for underprivileged ones by setting up a business for them. We worked with Ragpickers community, potters community, HIV+ ladies and other underprivileged communities in various projects in collaboration with SBI and Ambuja Cement. I served as Vice-President during which the team won Best Debutant Team, Hindustan Unilever Award, Walmart Grant in Regional and National Competitions

Achievements :
Won many business, green sustainability and other competitions at state and national level
Organising committee member of many national and international conferences and exhibitions
State Level basketball player

Publications:
Case Study on Nuclear Power Plants
Recycling of Agricultural Wastes

and many more things

Ultimately I want to either launch a disruptive startup which becomes a potential profitable business as well(and not just running on funds) or have a Global leadership - challenging role in an MNC.

What i want to Know ?
1) Is profile good for any of top 30 Mba colleges, if yes then what are the colleges i should aim for because i don't want to spend more than 40-50 k $ ( total for 2 years)?
2) can i get scholarships(full or atleast half)?
3) what should i do more to make my profile more relevant?
4) Would a work ex(after my startup) of logisitcs and delivery or advertising more beneficial, if ultimately want to get into a Business Strategy and Development profile (post mba)
5) Best colleges(ROI point of view and possible %age placement) for Business Devlepment profile.

Hey dude,
Good to hear from you!
You have a very mixed and diverse profile (which has its advantages and disadvantages).

My first question though is about your family business: what do they do? How big is it? How many employees? What turnover? Are they growing? Do you want to take over?

For the moment on to your questions:

1) Is profile good for any of top 30 Mba colleges, if yes then what are the colleges i should aim for because i don't want to spend more than 40-50 k $ ( total for 2 years)?

If your GMAT is high enough, yes. Before you have your actual test scores, its hard to tell.

2) can i get scholarships(full or atleast half)?

This is a question you shouldn't be asking. Because this is far less important than going to the best school you can get into (which gets you a higher salary and a better job, and a better ROI from your studies)

3) what should i do more to make my profile more relevant?

More leadership. More volunteer work. Make your goals crystal clear. Get REAL amazing results with your startup.

4) Would a work ex(after my startup) of logisitcs and delivery or advertising more beneficial, if ultimately want to get into a Business Strategy and Development profile (post mba)

Not necessarily.
5) Best colleges(ROI point of view and possible %age placement) for Business Devlepment profile.

There's no such thing as "placement for Bus Dev". Once again, you may be making things complicated for yourself, when actually they are very easy - just go to the best school you can get into :)

Good luck on your tests!!!!

Best,
Jon

Hi,
Thanks for suggestion. Actually my startup didn't workout and i don't wana give more time to it because somehow i don't have so much faith left in it and i have to move on also and earn something, so i am joining another startup in logisitics and delivery. Would that be a problem?

Not at all. Its a great idea! Like everything else, of course, the better job you get, the better it will be for your profile. But the most important: to be employed :)

Nope your new gig will not be a problem. It really is about how you perform in this new role. Your leadership and teamwork experience and impact will be what will help you stand out
