I gave my first ever GMAT yesterday and scored 620. Disappointed and I'm working on my strategy on retaking the test. However, I've been advised to not dismiss this score completely as there are schools that might consider 620 a decent score.
I want to work in Singapore post MBA as my family is here.
I'm female 27y/o and have a combined 5+ years of work experience in Manufacturing + Marketing sector of a Big Steel manufacturing MNC.
Can I apply anywhere with 620?

The answer to your question depends on where you want to go to school (rankings, U.S. only or are you considering Europe too, etc), as well as what the other aspects of your application look like (eg. career progression, unique experiences you've had, academic record, leadership experience, etc). Most of the top 20 schools' 80% GMAT score ranges start at 640 on the low end. That said, I had a client this year with a <600 score who got into Columbia and interviewed with several other top programs (waiting on results) because she has a very, very interesting profile outside of her scores. Are you considering schools in Singapore such as NUS or Nanyang, your GMAT score of 620 will be below the average for these schools. However, it will fall within the acceptable range. If you can present a strong profile, preferably one that brings an element of diversity, as well as a focused and realistic post-MBA goal, you may have a reasonable chance.
