Hi All,
Demographic: Male, Peruvian, 25 years old.
School: I studied Finance and Accounting at Universidad de Lima (Top school in Peru). I had a rough start of school so my GPA isn't that great, nonetheless I ended up finishing on the top 30% best students of my class.
Extracurricular activities on College:
* Elected as student representative counsel for the Universidad de Lima Business School, 2011 – 2012.
* Selected as Universidad de Lima representative at “CADE universitario” 2012. (is the largest and most diverse meeting of young leaders of the country that connects and inspires to exercise leadership on behalf of Peru, you must be presented by your school)
*Selected as delegate in several classes over college years.
Work Experience: Currently work in a Israelian Energy Corporation on Internal Audit Department, we assist corporate level (12 countries) based in Peru (new job 2 months, but was my client at deloitte for a year). Previously worked at Deloitte where I got hired in a full time position on my last year of college. I was first 3 years in audit where I had an early promotion to Audit senior in 2 years (instead of the normal three years, as is the standard procedure in Lima). After completing a year on the senior position on audit I transferred to Enterprise Risk Consulting as Senior Consultant, I was there for 1.5 years participating in different projects in Peru and abroad (Chile, Bolivia, Jamaica, among others). I have always served global clients. I'm specialized on Energy and Resources industry (have Deloitte's certification) Oil and Gas, Mining and Energy in particular. My last project was in charge of a project implementation in 12 countries (my currently employee).
Other Extracurricular activities:
* Active member of Deloitte Foundation
* Spoke as a host at Deloitte’s annual party.
* Spoke as a master of ceremony on Deloitte’s “Impact Day”.
* Nominated as Deloitte’s “Green Dot Award”. (Green Dot Award is like the "employee of the year").
* Completed a seven – month exchange program in the US when I was in high school.
I'm fluent in English and Spanish(native)
I'm planning on score +700 GMAT score and applying this coming year (class 2019) to:
R1: Wharton, Ross, Booth, Tippie and Kenan Flagler
R2: Ross, Georgetown
I would like to do after MBA something related to data analytics on Marketing or Energy sector, I think Energy and Resources background helps me with it.
What do you think I will need to work on in order to complete a strong profile? There’s nothing I can do about my GPA, but I can get a great GMAT.
