Age: 29 (Will be 30 at matriculation)
Undergrad: UNC KF
Major: Finance; GPA: 3.3
Work Experience: 3.5 years at a Venture Capital in Singapore. Working as an analyst for the first year and then promoted to associate. As an analyst, I led the interns and as an associate I managed the 2 analysts and 2 interns. Being a member of a small team, I did almost everything from deal screening, due diligence, to strategic consulting for portfolio firms and help in business development efforts. For a couple of firms, I actually got trained in their tech and helped in business development fully hands on. Completed 4 deals and had 2 exits out of the 4 companies.
2 yrs doing strategic, growth and planning at one of largest eCommerce platforms in Asia. Directly reporting the VP, Growth & Product Strategy. I put in initiatives that expanded the business to two new geographic regions. Increased margins by 10% for "Home" category and initiated new rewards incentives for Managers.
I am looking to get an MBA but I am only looking into INSEAD (SG). Could you please let me know if my profile would be competitive? I am looking to transition back to Venture Capital but more at a blue-chip firm rather than a boutique where I worked previously or MBB consulting and then transition into a blue-chip VC.. Thanks.
