Hi everyone,
I'm a graduate from the top engineering school in my country, and the GPAs there are fairly weird. Even though our grades can range from 0-10, there is a significant culture of grade deflation. In fact, in translated transcripts, they even include a "We consider a 7 to be an A" observation. (For reference, the No1 student in my year finished with ~8.3, if I'm not mistaken)
How would this be reported in my application? I worry because I finished with a 6.3 overall. (6.3/10 = 2.5/4, but 6.3/7 = 3.6/4), including some ~3/4s in my first years.
I do, however, have:
1) "Reasons" for it: I worked to help the family business for the first half, and as a full-time intern at an investment bank for the second
2) An upward trend
I do plan on beefing these up, with a great GMAT and CFA or similar credentials.
I'm aiming for M7. How much will this GPA issue hurt me?
Many thanks!
