I am a business professional with 7 years + work experience in the field of Strategy, Product & Marketing in Mobile Money & Telecom industry at Bangladesh and having a career growth stated below.
Current: Head of Strategy in a mobile money venture of a local bank.
Previous:Assistant Manager, Strategy, leading mobile financial services in country.
Assistant Manager, Business Dev, leading mobile financial services in country.
Executive, Vas & Innovations, Telecom
Customer Manager, Telecom
I would like to apply for my MBA this year, Nov to get enrolled in next year. I would also like to change my job/assignment tentatively at June, this year. Now my query is: what types of assignment or job will best enrich/add value to my existing profile (stated above) to attract MBA applications at top B-school? Let me also specify a bit more (hypothetically) of what are the options I have to pick for my next job.
o Mid-level role as a change manager in an international technology company which is operating locally.
o Marketing Head in online startup (local).
o Marketing manager in a local big corporate.
o Mid-level Manager at a Telecom
o Founding a Startup as Co-founder (as country manager in Malaysia).
Since the enrichment of my MBA application is the utmost priority to pick the next job for me, therefore it is going to be a crucial decision on which you may help with.

From an outsider and very high level view based on what you have provided, the two roles below would seem to enrich your profile the most
o Mid-level role as a change manager in an international technology company which is operating locally.
o Founding a Startup as Co-founder (as country manager in Malaysia).
Leading change initiatives would likely make you more aware of company culture, and develop soft skills in terms of influencing people/teams, and managing resistance/conflicts. Doing so with international teams would be even more beneficial and interesting.
Serving as a Co-founder/Country Manager in a new country (I assume that you are not from Malaysia) would give you both the entrepreneurial experience, and bottom line responsibilities for the business. On the personal side, you will experience integrating yourself into a new community and culture, becoming aware of the importance of representing your company as a leader/managing external relationships, and not only of the output of your work.
Other factors to consider would be how productive/enriching will the experiences in the one year or so spent in the new company. The quality of the people around you and the organization itself will also factor in. You will be better served pursue the one where you get to truly develop and not get stuck with delays or bureaucracy that would cut into your time. This way you will richer experiences to share with your MBA applications/grow professionally.
