Hi,
Would greatly appreciate a broad evaluation of my profile for admission to one of the top 10 schools. I would
Undergrad: Comp Science from IIT-Kanpur (top 3 school in India, got a top 50 rank in the entrance examination out of half a million candidates) GPA: 7/10
GMAT: 770
Worked for a year and a half at one of the bulge bracket IBs as a quant with short stints at London. Have cleared CFA and FRM level 1s as well.
Currently running a $400k funded startup in the healthcare domain- am a co-founder and handling the business side, CEO essentially.
I am planning to apply for the fall-18 admission cycle and would probably be open only to very select schools: HBS,Stan-GSB,Sloan,Booth,Wharton,Kellogg,LBS,Insead.
I understand that my GPA is pretty low for most of these schools but I believe I have demonstrated examples of leadership- both at work and during my undergrad as well.
Other than the low GPA I believe have a fairly stellar academic trajectory (>95% in all examinations as well as the GMAT score).
I should also be able to get recommendation letters from alumni from some of the schools I listed.
Additionally I plan on working full-time at a non-profit next year for a few months.
Do I have a realistic shot at the schools listed? If not, I'd be open to a 1 year MS course in Finance where I can work on the GPA since I'm only 23 right now.

I think you have a assessed yourself fairly accurately. However especially for over-represented candidate at top 10 schools it's about the unique contribution you could bring that separates you from other Indians with a comparable education and work background. There might be merit in developing a secondary transcript, however I would put the emphasis of your admissions strategy on identifying how you would be deeply missed if not included in the class. Do you have any hobbies or interests that sets you apart, or a unique upbringing in any way? What's the situation with extracurriculars and community service? Any particular passions beyond work? Having a solid GMAT, and to a lesser degree GPA, is necessary but not sufficient. Might consider adding CBS and Cambridge to the list.

Thanks Farrel. As for extra-curricular activities, I was involved in a fair few at school- primarily in organizational and leadership positions though. On the community service front- I'm actively working with outreach programs for public health in villages as part of my start-up. Additionally, as I indicated in the original post, I am planning to spend some time abroad next year working in the non-profit sector which should help me check that particular box as well. And yes, CBS and Stern are definitely on the list, just missed them on the post.
So, in your opinion, would an additional transcript make more sense or working at an NGO?
