I am considering a retake right now... what do you think?
GMAT: 690 (q51 99%, v30 59%)
GPA: 3.0 from University of Virginia, Engineering
Work Experience: 7 years in Big 4 IT Consulting
Schools applying to: Top 10
I have a low GPA and hoped to mitigate it with the exceptionally high GMAT but didn't quite get there. I am especially worried about my low verbal score.
Please give me your expert advice...

I think you should retake, primarily because of the verbal and because of the schools you are targeting.
Did you have a bad day? Mismanage your time? If so, then you also have a good chance of really improving that score.

One more question: will Top 15 be a strech in my situation?
My Problem: I tried to go way too fast and I was not paying attention to the details in the beginning of the exam since I had the time management problem on my last exam's verbal section. More thorough preparation is definitely needed for me especially on RC where I relied on my memory for a lot of info due to the time constraint. I think the better strategy next time will be to pay special attention to the first 20 questions, especially RCs.
I am planning to read magazines such as The Economist and Scientific American religiously in order to improve my RC skills. I don't know whether this is going to make a big difference in 30 days, but I am going to give it a shot.
