So about 3 months ago, I posted my abysmal 610 story.
I studied really, really hard for my retake (math-oriented), but between my book deals (I have 2 novels published/will publish) and my current cold (I think I have a fever? I hacked up my lungs) I don't think my best was on the books today.
The thing is, R2 is getting closer.
Will I have a shot at top 10 with sub-700? Should I Retake?
I'm devastated.

Hi milly800,
First off, a 690/Q49 is a strong score (it's just shy of the 90th percentile overall), so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest is probably not necessary. You're ultimately asking Admissions questions though, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile. There's a Forum full of them here:

you might have a chance at the bottom end of the top 10 depending on your profile but with no knowledge of your profile I would say the top half will be a challenge as most of these schools are nearing a 730 these days
