Hi Linda,
I'm a woman, indian (but born in the US), and gay. My GMAT score is 650 (85%) with a low quant. (56%) and high verbal (96%). I went to a top 10 school and my GPA was 3.75 (econ major), along with 3 prestigous awards for academic and leadership achievement. I also started 3 businesses in college, my first job was managerial level at a small consulting company, and I'm now a product manager at a top 5 money management firm (4 years exp.). My recs will come from the dean of my undergrad school and a senior level manager at work - both will likely be very impressive recs. I also serve on several non-profit boards and interview very well. Overall, without giving specifics here, I believe my story will truely stand out from other applicants.
I plan to only apply to Northwestern and Chicago part time b/c I live in Chicago. Will my GMAT be a problem, or does the rest of my application make up it? While I'm disappointed with my quant. score (I expected to get about 75%), I'm okay with the overall score. I'm not a good test taker, but have always done exceptionally well academically...these standardized tests just aren't my thing.
Can you please give advice about whether or not I should retake the GMAT.
Thanks.
