Hi Everyone,
I took the GMAT today. Feel really bad, scored just 630. The score is definitely lower than what I have been scoring in my official mocks (660-670 average). I felt really good after the verbal section but then when the score popped up, it was completely a different story (V27).
With the R1 deadlines in next 15 days, can you please suggest what should I do? I am targeting ISB, NUS, Rotterdam, Insead, St. Gallen
Do I stand any chance with my current score for these schools? Given my international experience, I do think I have a strong overall profile, but would that compensate for such a low score?
Given that today is 30th, even if I book a date after 15 days, it would be after the R1 deadlines. What should I do in this case? Go for R1 with this score or apply in R2?
Some details about the profile:
Indian Male candidate (27 years old) with bachelors in commerce from Mumbai University. Decent Academics (X-80%, 12-85%, Bachelors-75%), 6 years of work experience (including 3 years of International experience) with a Market research company focusing on research projects on new product launches and Pricing and promotion strategies in the FMCG domain. Currently working as a Senior Consultant in Poland.
In terms of extra curricular, I was elected House Captain in my last year of schooling, captained school/club cricket teams for 3 years, Played district level cricket in the Under 15 levels, active member of Rotract club during my college days and Community service groups at work.
I am eagerly looking for your suggestions.

Hi Raunak,
As I understand the urgent deadlines for you are ISB on Oct 15th, Rotterdam on October 16th.
You can comfortably apply to ISB in R2. It will not put you in any disadvantage. For Rotterdam, I think you are already a little late. Its their penultimate deadline and as I understand from past experience, they would already have selected Indian applicants by now.
You have a good profile, but international work experience alone will not set you apart. Ofcourse, work exp. in market research is another differentiating factor. My suggestion is to retake GMAT in the next 15-20 days and apply to the programs mentioned above.

Hi Raunak,
Turning in a good application takes time. After putting in so much work, you wouldn’t want to leave one bolt loose and see the wheels come off. Apply with your best possible score to have better odds. If you think you can improve 630, apply in R2.
