Hi Experts,

Can you please explain me an essay question:

Your biography is being made into a movie. What are the top five most meaningful scenes, and what song must be in the soundtrack? Why?

Do we have to have to divide an achievement story into five scenes and present it?
Do we need to write five different scenes from same life experience or five scenes from five different stories? If we write five different stories how to connect them with a common song?

Can you please explain me an essay question:

Your biography is being made into a movie. What are the top five most meaningful scenes, and what song must be in the soundtrack? Why?
The key here is to think about different "moments" that capture your core message. Let's say that your strengths are strong cross-cultural skills and strong tech interest. One "scene" could be you telling a story about how you managed the international expansion in China for your current company- with details on your role and accomplishments. Another "scene" could be your early childhood memory of a trip to Europe that first kindled your love of travel. Another "scene" could be how you built a collaborative and effective international team that introduced new technology to a new market. And another could be how you are involved in teaching kids tech skills for the future... get the idea- all these scenes should work together to paint a picture that tells your strengths and helps adcom see how you are prepared for your post MBA role
Do we have to have to divide an achievement story into five scenes and present it? If you want to focus on one scene you could divide into 5 parts- but it might be better to capture different moments that all work to build a picture of you that you want adcom to see.
Do we need to write five different scenes from same life experience or five scenes from five different stories? If we write five different stories how to connect them with a common song? As far as a song- I would think about another theme that goes along with your story- such as if your story has a resilience or determination factor- then pick a song that helps capture that! My only advice on the song is to stay away from songs with controversial lyrics and anything too silly. But otherwise- let the song be another way to reinforce your message. Hope that helps! Hello Experts,

I have a doubt regarding below Application essay, are we supposed to add scenes from our life experiences before MBA?. Will the biography be limited to my Pre-MBA experiences?. Please advise. I'd have to see it in the context of the actual application question-- and there is creativity involved here so open to your own interpretation and what you want to highlight-- but the way you state here-- I could see that you could in fact look at your entire life and not just pre MBA life.
I suppose this could be seen as a variant of the GSB What Matters Most essay. You talk about what matters most-- in this case by pulling out scenes from your life--so I can see this including what you see your life like with the MBA. Again-- review the particular question from the school to be sure- but I can see that you could interpret this way.
