Hi Experts,

Good day to you..!!

I have been preparing for GMAT for the past 2 Months and targeting 720-730 score in GMAT. Recently, I read somewhere that if we have Gap in education there is very less chance of getting selected for MBA Programmes in top B-Schools. I have 2 Years of Gap after doing my 12th Class due to Personal Reason.

Should I still dream of doing MBA from top B School and stop preparing for GMAT :( or there is any hope for me?

Please advise.
----------

I have good track record from my Undergrad - Scored 3rd Position from my University in Graduation. Have total of 6.5 Years of Experience (3.5 Years at Onsite & Still at Onsite).

1. Working as a Consultant for one of the Largest Power provider in Asia.
2. Worked as a Business Analyst, Business Development and participated in many International Conferences (the recent Conference which Included PM of India & PM of Malaysia).
3. Leading a project which involves largest electricity provider in Vietnam (Covering 16,000km of Transmission Lines).
4. Lead a Project (PoC) in IoT (Internet of Things) for largest power provider in Asia.
5. Critical role in many other projects.
6. One of the Strategist for my Company in SEA (South East Asia Region).

I am Targeting Top 10 B-Schools and aim to score 730-740 in GMAT. Do you think my profile is worth giving a try in Top-10 B Schools provided I get 730-70 in GMAT.

Thanks in advance in anticipation of your reply.

Rahul,

A gap post graduation is more troublesome as compared to one before it. Adcoms consider your profile from undergrad onwards. Moreover, you have been employed for past 6.5 years, so I would not be too concerned.
Go, rock your GMAT!

Hi rahulsingh007 ,

I have a very simple answer for you : You should not worry about this as soon as you could explain this in your optional essays with a Silver lining attached to it.

All the best :)

I would not be concerned by this, it probably still warrants an explanation as all gaps on your resume will but if you're picking gaps the one coming right out of undergrad is the best to have. So make sure you explain it in your optional essay briefly and don't worry too much about it after that
