Hey everyone..I need help. I would appreciate if someone guides me..Bear with me. So i am 28 and an considering a career shift.Have finally decided to get an mba from canada. I just took my gmat and scored 650 which i guess is an on par score for most canadian b schools. But the problem is regarding my work experience. I established a school in a far rural area of Pakistan a couple of years and it has now grown into a modest institution. It has over 600 students and around 70 to 80 teachers work under me. Now the problem is i am having a hard time spinning this business as a "work experience" and if i do then what recommendations would be most suited to help my application.

We can definitely help you as we work with a lot of folks in Pakistan (had two calls today) and can also compare you to other applicants who have started and run schools in other parts of the world. This is definitely work experience it sounds like you just need to be more confident in yourself and your experience. You've seemingly accomplished a lot just by opening the school. I think it would be helpful for admissions to clearly articulate the growth and revenue you have driven since opening. There are many qualitative results I'm sure you have driven working with students as well.
Now when it comes to recommenders do you have any board members, administrators, or investors that can provide a recommender? Many entrepreneurs still find people to provide recommenders so you just need to be thoughtful about your choice here.
