If you are already starting to consider applying for an MBA in the fall of 2018-- there are definitely things you should be doing NOW to get this process off to a great start. One of them is doing your homework about programs of interest. Now is the time to visit the campus, meet with students while they are still on campus, and see the school in action. If you wait until August- you won't be able to visit in a formal way as most programs do not start their "official" campus visit programs until Sept or Oct-- and even if you can visit-- half the students have only been there a short time-- so you won't get as much good information as you will when you visit in the spring! So plan your visits now-- and here are a few articles that can help you make the most of your trip!
